The Human Chameleon

The Human Chameleon

Most know a chameleon.

The person who can fit in anywhere with anyone.

The person who has the power to adapt and mold who they are to their audience.

Maybe this person is you.

Maybe this person is a close friend.

This chameleon has great power in being able to connect with others.

And with that power, if not intentional, can become a weakness if not examined.

The weakness can be that the chameleon does not know who they are.

The chameleon can lack grounding, they can exist everywhere.

The chameleon can lack values, they can look for others to define their values in situations.

The chameleon can lack a sense of purpose or reason for existing. They can get stuck molding themselves to the purpose and reasons of others.

The chameleon can lack a sense of self, their sense of self is found in being with others.

While this is not always true of the chameleon, it can be if not examined.

The invitation to chameleons out there is to ask yourselves,

What are you committed to?

What do you stand for?

What do you value?

What do you believe?

Who are you?
