The Side Effects of Stagnant Language

The Side Effects of Stagnant Language

Stagnant.

Showing no activity.

Dull.

Sluggish.

Stagnant water lacks flow.

As a result, it often smells unpleasant.

Language.

Language is the sum total of your characters which you turn into words which you turn into sentences and greater works.

It is spoken and thought.

Stagnant language has an unpleasant feeling.

It could be the source of depression.

It could be the source of anxiety.

It could be the source of stress.

It could be the source of sadness.

... although it is often not thought of as such.

Stagnant language exists when language is not changed.

As a result, you can find yourself receiving what you have always received.

Not because you are always given the same but because you have stagnant language. You have learned to see the same.

Because you are not learning to articulate who you are now and who you are becoming.

Because you are not learning to articulate your version of reality differently.

Because you are holding onto to what feels or seems safe, despite it being stagnant.

I invite you to evolve your language.

It might evolve the world you live in.
